Revised Trust Deed for Homerton College: Notice

24 September 2001

The Council have received from the Trustees of Homerton College a revised draft Trust Deed the text of which is available for inspection in the University Registry. The principal change proposed is that provision is made for the establishment of a Fellowship for the College, to which governance functions may be transferred by the Trustees. Statute H, IV, 2 provides for approval of such changes by the University, or by the Council if the proposed alteration does not affect the University or prejudice the interests of the University. In the opinion of the Council the proposed changes do not prejudice the interests of the University, but the establishment of a Fellowship, which the Council welcome, does affect the University in the sense of Statute H, IV, 2. The Council are therefore submitting a Grace requesting the University's consent to the changes (Grace 2, p. 28).
