Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Science, and Master of Letters

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 487)

With effect from 1 October 2001

The purpose of the amendments is to clarify the wording of the present regulations: (i) under Regulation 1(a) the Board is not restricted to making an exemption of three terms, but may limit the exemption to one or two terms if required; (ii) Regulation 7, which deals with the standing of candidates, refers only to allowances under Regulations 1(d) and 2 and not to exemptions under Regulation 1(a), although the effect on submission deadlines for either allowances or exemptions should be identical.

Regulation 1(a).

By replacing in line two the words 'exempt from three terms' by the words 'exempt from up to three terms'.

Regulation 7.

By adding to the end of the final sentence the words 'as shall an exemption under Regulation 1(a)'.
