VISUAL ARTS STUDENTSHIP, 2001-02

The Managers of the Christ's College Levy-Plumb Fund for the Humanities invite applications from final-year undergraduate or graduate student members of the University under the age of twenty-five years for a one-year Studentship in the Visual Arts, tenable for the 2001-02 academical year.

The Studentship will be valued at £6,000 for the year, plus an additional sum of up to £1,000 to cover approved materials and expenses. The Managers would also consider applications by the holder for financial assistance with related travel. Although remaining as a resident member of the University the holder will not need to register for any formal degree or other qualification, but will be expected to use the year to develop his or her ideas and practical work. The College has studio facilities available and the holder of the award would be expected to use those facilities as the base for their work. Other things being equal, preference would be given to a current member of Christ's College, and anyone appointed who is not already a member of the College would be expected to become a member.

Any eligible person who is interested in being considered for the award should write to Dr G. R. Alexander at Christ's College by Friday, 15 June 2001, giving an indication in outline of their current work in the Visual Arts and of how they would wish to spend the year.
