Historical Tripos, Part II, 2002: Amendment to subjects

The Faculty Board of History give notice that they have amended their announcement of subjects in Part II of the Historical Tripos, 2002 (Reporter, 1999-2000, pp. 719-20 and 931, and 2000-01, p. 426) as follows:

by amending the title of Paper 28 to read

from No subject specified

to Conquest and conversion in Spanish America, 1492-1700

Candidates for Part II in 2002, who have previously taken Part I of the Historical Tripos and who did not offer in that Part a paper falling mainly in the period before 1750, may meet the requirement to take a pre-1750 paper in Part II (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 298) by offering one of the Special Subjects A, B, C, D, and E, or by offering Paper 3 or one of the Papers 12, 13, 14, and 16 as previously announced, or Paper 28.

Candidates for Part II in 2002, who have previously taken Part I of the Historical Tripos and who did not offer in that Part a paper in European History, may meet the requirement to take a European History paper in Part II by offering one of the Papers 8, 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20 as previously announced.

The Faculty Board are satisfied that no candidate's preparation for the examination is adversely affected by this amendment.
