Social and Political Sciences Tripos (New Regulations), Parts IIA and IIB

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 387)

New Regulations for the Social and Political Sciences Tripos were introduced during 1999-2000. It has now been found necessary to amend certain small errors in those regulations. The opportunity has also been taken to amend the titles of certain other papers so that the Faculty Board may vary their subject matter according to the available teaching.

With immediate effect

Regulation 14.

By amending Papers Pol. 1 and Pol. 2 to read as follows:

Pol 1. The history of political thought to c. 1700 (Paper 19 of Part I of the Historical Tripos).

Pol 2. The history of political thought from c. 1700 to c. 1890 (Paper 20 of Part I of the Historical Tripos).

By inserting the following papers:

Pol. 14. The history of political thought to c. 1700 (Paper 3 of Part II of the Historical Tripos).

Pol. 15. The history of political thought from c. 1700 to c. 1890 (Paper 4 of Part II of the Historical Tripos).

Regulation 17.

By replacing sub-paragraph (a) by the following:

(a) one paper chosen from Pol. 6-11, 14, 15;

Regulation 22(a).

By inserting at the end of the second sentence the words ', or Pol. 14 or Pol. 15'.

With effect from 1 October 2001

Regulation 14.

By amending the title of Paper Pol. 11 so as to read 'A subject in modern politics V.'

With effect from 1 October 2002

Regulation 14.

By amending the title of Paper Pol. 12 so as to read 'A subject in modern politics VI.', and by inserting in the final sentence of this regulation the number 12 after the number 11.

Regulation 15.

By inserting in the second line after 'Pol. 7-9, 11,' the number 12.

Regulation 17.

By inserting in the penultimate line after 'Pol. 7-9, 11,' the number 12.

With immediate effect

The titles of Papers Pol. 1 and Pol. 2 have been amended as follows:

Paper Pol. 1. The history of political thought to c. 1700 (Paper 19 of Part I of the Historical Tripos).

Paper Pol 2. The history of political thought from c. 1700 to c. 1890 (Paper 20 of Part I of the Historical Tripos).

The following Papers Pol. 14 and Pol. 15 have been inserted:

Paper Pol. 14. The history of political thought to c. 1700 (Paper 3 of Part II of the Historical Tripos).

Paper Pol. 15. The history of political thought from c. 1700 to c. 1890 (Paper 4 of Part II of the Historical Tripos).

With effect from 1 October 2001

The detail for Paper Pol. 11 has been replaced by the following:

Paper Pol. 11. A subject in modern politics V.

A subject in modern politics specified by the Faculty Board from time to time.

With effect from 1 October 2002

The detail for Paper Pol. 12 has been replaced by the following:

Paper Pol. 12. A subject in modern politics VI

A subject in modern politics specified by the Faculty Board from time to time.
