Education Studies Tripos

Part I

SCHEDULE I

Mathematics

By amending the detail so as to read:

Three papers chosen from among the papers set for Part IA of the Mathematical Tripos.

Music

By amending the first line so as to read:

Three papers and a dissertation or a composition, as follows:

By amending sub-paragraph (c) so as to read:

  (c) Either (i) a dissertation on a subject relating to music education. Such a dissertation shall conform to the requirements of Regulation 15(b) of the Education Studies Tripos; its length shall be between 5,000 and 7,000 words, inclusive of notes and appendices;
  or (ii) an extended composition of between 6 and 10 minutes' duration. The work may be scored for any combination except for solo melody instrument or voice, and it must use an acceptable notation which enables its musical properties to be clearly assessed.

Natural Sciences

By amending sub-paragraph (a) so as to read:

(a) From Part IA of the Natural Sciences Tripos: Biology of Cells (the written paper and the practical examination) and one of the following options:
(1) Evolution and Behaviour (the written paper and practical examination);
(2) Physiology of Organisms (the written paper and practical examination).

Religious Studies

By amending the detail so as to read:

Four papers as follows:

  Either (a) four papers from among the papers set for Part I (New Regulations) or for the Preliminary Examination for Part II (Old Regulations) of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos;
  or (b) (i) *Paper R1. Women's voices in religion, and
  (ii) three papers from among the papers set for Part I (New Regulations) or the Preliminary Examination for Part II (Old Regulations) of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos;

provided that in substitution for one paper a candidate may offer a dissertation on a topic in religious studies prescribed by the Faculty Board of Education. Such a dissertation shall conform to the requirements of Regulation 15(b) of the Education Studies Tripos.

Part II

SCHEDULE II

Natural Sciences

By renumbering options (h) to (j) and inserting the following options (h) and (i):

  or (h) History and Philosophy of Science (both written papers) from Part IB of the Natural Sciences Tripos;
  or (i) Special Subject 'Human Impact on the Environment' (both the written papers and the practical examination) from Part II (General) of the Natural Sciences Tripos;
