Election, appointments, and reappointment

The following election, appointments, and reappointment have been made:

Election

Professor C. M. Dobson, M.A., B.Sc., D.Phil., Oxford, FRS, Professor of Chemistry and Director of the Oxford Centre for Molecular Science, University of Oxford, elected a John Humphrey Plummer Professor from 1 January 2001.

Appointments

University Lecturer

Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. Mr A. Shadrin, M.Sc., Ph.D., Moscow State, appointed from 1 September 2000 for three years.

Head of Department

Linguistics. The General Board, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Modern and Medieval Languages, have appointed Professor I. G. Roberts, B.A., Wales, Ph.D., Southern California, to be Head of the Department of Linguistics from 1 January 2001 for four years.

Reappointment

University Lecturer

Chemical Engineering. Dr A. P. J. Middelberg, SE, reappointed from 1 July 2001 to the retiring age.
