Nuffield College

POSTGRADUATE STUDIES AND FUNDING IN THE SOCIAL SCIENCES

The College welcomes applications from women and men for research or postgraduate study in economics (broadly conceived), politics, and sociology. We have special interests also in the following fields: recent social, political, and economic history, social and medical statistics, medical sociology, international relations, social policy, American studies, Commonwealth history, social geography, and European studies.

The College also offers a number of Nuffield Funded Studentships, open to both UK and overseas students, to cover fees and maintenance.

Nuffield is a postgraduate College within the University of Oxford, with about twenty-five students admitted each year. There are a number of very active research groups, academic visitors from many countries, and an extensive programme of lectures and seminars. The College has an outstanding library and strong IT support is available to students; it also aims to provide single study rooms for the duration of study.

The closing date for applications to the University is 31 January 2001.
