The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that he has received the following nomination for election to the Council in class (a) (Heads of Colleges) in place of Sir David Harrison (see Reporter, p. 3), and that it has been certified to him that the candidate has consented to be nominated:
Professor Peter Goddard, Master of St John's College, is nominated by Professor B. J. Heal, of St John's College, and seconded by the President of Wolfson College.
No other candidate having been nominated, the Vice-Chancellor declares that Professor Goddard is elected to serve as a member of the Council from 7 November 2000 until 31 December 2002, and that the election previously announced will not now take place.
