Annual Meetings of Faculties

Divinity

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Divinity gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Thursday, 16 November 2000, in the Lightfoot Room of the Faculty Building, West Road, and will be followed by a meeting of Directors of Studies. Elections will be held, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), of three members in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2001.

Nominations for the election and notice of any other business should reach Ms R. M. Paul, Faculty of Divinity, West Road, Cambridge, CB3 9BS, not later than Monday, 13 November 2000.

Earth Sciences and Geography

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Earth Sciences and Geography gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, 7 November 2000, in the Seminar Room, Department of Geography. The main business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), one member in class (c) to serve for four years from January 2001.

Nominations for election, signed by the proposer and the seconder, and accompanied by the consent of the person nominated, together with notice of any other business for this meeting, should reach the Secretary of the Faculty, Department of Geography, Downing Place (e-mail lcf25@cam.ac.uk), by Friday, 3 November 2000.

Economics and Politics

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Economics and Politics gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, 20 November 2000, in the Meade Room, Austin Robinson Building, Sidgwick Avenue. The Agenda for the meeting will be circulated to each member of the Faculty. One of the items of business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), three members of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2001 and one member to serve for three years from 1 January 2001.

Nominations in writing, signed by the proposer, together with an indication of the nominee's willingness to serve, should reach the Secretary, Dr S. N. Solomou, Faculty of Economics and Politics, Austin Robinson Building, Sidgwick Avenue, by 5 p.m. on Thursday, 16 November 2000. It would be convenient if notice of any other business that members wish to be discussed were sent in writing to the Secretary by 10 a.m. on Monday, 13 November 2000.

English

The Chair of the Faculty Board of English gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, 16 November 2000, in Seminar Room 3, Faculty of History. The main business of the meeting will be: (i) the election, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), of four members of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2001; (ii) the election of two persons to the General Purposes Committee to serve for one year from 1 January 2001; (iii) the election of one person to the Teaching and Learning Committee to serve for one year from 1 December 2000.

Nominations, proposed and seconded in writing, together with an indication of the nominee's willingness to serve, and notice of any other business, should reach the Secretary of the Faculty Board, Mrs Claire Daunton (e-mail chgd2@cam.ac.uk) at the English Faculty Office, 9 West Road, by 12 noon on Wednesday, 8 November 2000.

History

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of History gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Tuesday, 14 November 2000, in Room 3 in the Faculty of History. The main business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), three members of the Faculty Board in class (c), two to serve for four years and one to serve for one year from 1 January 2001.

Other business will be the examiners' reports for 2000 and matters arising therefrom, the annual reports of M.Phils., 1999-2000, the Seeley Library Report, 1999-2000, and research grant opportunities.

Nomination forms, signed by the nominee, the proposer, and the seconder, should reach the Secretary at the Faculty of History, West Road, not later than 12 noon on Tuesday, 7 November 2000.

Law

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Law gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, 16 November 2000, in G24, Faculty of Law. The main business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), four members in class (c) to serve for four years from January 2001.

Nominations for election and notice of any other business for this meeting should reach the Secretary of the Faculty Board of Law (e-mail gjv1000@cam.ac.uk), by Friday, 10 November 2000.

Philosophy

The Chair of the Faculty Board of Philosophy gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, 20 November 2000, in Room 315, Faculty of Philosophy, Raised Faculty Building, Sidgwick Avenue. The main business will be the election, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), of two members of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2001.

Nominations for these elections and notice of any other business should reach the Secretary, Mrs A. Elliott, Philosophy Faculty Office, Room 313, Raised Faculty Building, Sidgwick Avenue, by Friday, 10 November 2000.

Physics and Chemistry

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Physics and Chemistry gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Friday, 17 November 2000, in the Committee Room, Institute of Astronomy, Madingley Road. The main business will be the election, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), of one member of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2001. The retiring member is Dr C. J. Clarke.

Nominations, signed by the proposer and the seconder, for which the consent of the candidate must be obtained, should reach the Secretary at the Institute of Astronomy, Madingley Road, not later than Wednesday, 8 November 2000. Notice of any other business should reach the Secretary by the same date.

Social and Political Sciences

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Social and Political Sciences gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, 9 November 2000, in the SPS Committee Room, Old Cavendish Building, New Museums Site. All members of the Faculty are invited to attend. An election will be held, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), of one member of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2001.

Nominations, proposed and seconded in writing, together with an indication of the nominee's willingness to serve, and notification of any other business, should be sent in writing to the Secretary of the Faculty Board of Social and Political Sciences, Free School Lane, not later than Monday, 6 November 2000. Notice of any other business should reach the Secretary by the same date.
