Clerk Maxwell Scholarship: Notice

The Electors to the Clerk Maxwell Scholarship give notice that an election to the Scholarship will be made before the beginning of the Lent Term 2001.

The Scholarship is for the advancement by original research of experimental physics, especially electricity, magnetism, and heat. Any member of the University who has been a student for one term or more in the Cavendish Laboratory is eligible. The Scholarship will be tenable for a period determined by the Electors of not more than three years from 1 January 2001. The value will not normally be greater than that of an EPSRC Studentship and account may be taken of any other funds available to the elected Student before the value is determined.

Candidates are invited to send their applications to the Secretary of the Department of Physics, Cavendish Laboratory, Madingley Road, Cambridge, CB3 0HE, so as to arrive not later than 30 October 2000, together with such evidence of their qualifications as they think fit and a clear statement of the course of research which they propose to pursue and the names of two referees.
