Hughes Hall

Hughes Hall offers the following scholarships and bursaries.

THE PRESIDENT'S AWARDS

The President's Awards, to encourage educational opportunity, are worth £1,500 a year and are open to home, EU, and overseas undergraduates and Affiliated Students. They are renewable for a second and third year.

ELIZABETH CHERRY RESEARCH STUDENTS' SCHOLARSHIPS

Ten Elizabeth Cherry Research Students' Scholarships, worth £500 a year, are offered. Normally four to be awarded to initial applicants intending to read for the Ph.D. who choose Hughes Hall as their college of first preference, and six to be awarded to Ph.D. students in their second or third year. The Scholarships may be held for up to three years.

HUGHES HALL COMMONWEALTH STUDENTSHIPS AND HUGHES HALL OVERSEAS STUDENTSHIPS

The Hughes Hall Commonwealth Studentships and the Hughes Hall Overseas Studentships are worth £500 for the first year and £250 for each of the subsequent years. They are open to undergraduate and Graduate Students.

HUGHES HALL BURSARIES

Hughes Hall Bursaries, in the range of £150 to £500 a year, are open to application from clinical medical students and graduates registered for the LL.M. and M.Phil. Degrees or accepted to undertake research leading to the Ph.D. Degree. They are renewable for a second or third year.

HUGHES HALL NEWTON MILLENNIUM FUND

The Hughes Hall Newton Millennium Fund (incorporating the Donald Wort Fund) is available to graduates and undergraduates suffering financial hardship.

TRAVEL GRANTS

Grants are available to assist with travel necessary for research.

Special consideration will be given to applicants for scholarships and bursaries who, on their application forms, nominate Hughes Hall as their College of first preference.
