FIAT-SERENA PROFESSORSHIP OF ITALIAN STUDIES

The electors intend to proceed to an election to the Fiat-Serena Professorship of Italian Studies with effect from 1 October 2001, or such later date as may be arranged.

The successful candidate should have an outstanding research record in Italian literature, be able to offer research leadership, and be capable of teaching a wide range of the literary and/or linguistic topics covered by the Honour School in Italian. A non-stipendiary Fellowship at Magdalen College is attached to the Professorship.

Applications (ten copies, or one only from overseas candidates), naming three persons who have agreed to act as referees on this occasion, should be received not later than 16 October 2000, by the Registrar, University Offices, Wellington Square, Oxford, OX1 2JD, from whom further particulars may be obtained.
