Clare Hall

PRESIDENCY

The Fellows of Clare Hall invite expressions of interest in the post of President of the College, to succeed Professor Dame Gillian Beer, who will reach the end of her term of office in September 2001.

Clare Hall is a postgraduate College in the University. The College has twenty-five Official Fellows, nine Professorial Fellows, twenty-five Research Fellows, and up to forty-five Visiting Fellows from universities around the world, and 150 graduate students.

The President is elected for a single period of seven years, and is not eligible for re-election. He or she must be under sixty-three years at the date of admission. The appointment will run from 1 October 2001. The President is normally required to reside in the College during full term. A house is provided.

Suitably qualified individuals who wish to be considered, or persons who would like to suggest the names of others the College might consider, are invited to write, in confidence, to the Vice-President, Clare Hall, Cambridge, CB3 9AL, from whom further particulars are available. Expressions of interest or nominations are sought by 30 September 2000.
