Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos

The General Board have approved a proposal by the Faculty Board of Modern and Medieval Languages for the introduction of an examination paper on Neo-Latin. This paper will be available in Parts IB and II of the Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos. The Faculty Board are suspending Papers ML 1 (Continuity and change in Latin literature, from 200 to 650) and ML 2 (Medieval Latin literature from 650 to 1300) for which they are at present unable to provide teaching. The regulations for the Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 327) have been amended, with effect from 1 October 2001, as follows:

Regulation 18.

(1) By attaching to sub-paragraph (a) after the words 'medieval Latin.' the following footnote:

3 These papers will not be available until further notice.

(2) By inserting in sub-paragraph (b) after the words 'medieval Latin,' the words 'Neo-Latin,'.

SCHEDULE B

(1) By attaching the following footnote to Papers ML 1 (Continuity and change in Latin literature, from 200 to 650) and ML 2 (Medieval Latin literature from 650 to 1300) in the list of papers for Medieval Latin:

1 This paper is suspended until further notice.

(2) By inserting the following new paper:

Neo-Latin

NL 1. Introduction to Neo-Latin literature, from 1350 to 1700.2

2 This paper is also available to candidates for the Classical Tripos and the English Tripos; see pp. 000 and 000.

SCHEDULES IB and II

(1) By attaching the following footnote to Papers ML 1 and ML 2 in the list of papers for Medieval Latin:
