Downing College

CHAPLAIN (FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME)

The College proposes to elect an Anglican Chaplain from 1 January 2001 for three years in the first instance, with the possibility of renewal for a further two years until 31 December 2005. No further renewal will be possible after this date. The Chaplain's duties include the conduct of worship in the College Chapel, with particular emphasis on pastoral care among all members of the College. The appointment is open equally to men and women. A stipend will be paid according to the Ely Diocesan scale and, in addition, either single living accommodation or a housing allowance will be provided.

If suitably qualified, the Chaplain may also be appointed as Director of Studies in Theology and Religious Studies and may undertake some teaching. These duties would be separately remunerated.

Applicants should write to the Master, Downing College, Regent Street, Cambridge, CB2 1DQ (fax 01223 334868, e-mail rsve2@cam.ac.uk), from whom further particulars may be obtained. Please name not fewer than three referees and ask them to write directly to the Master. The closing date for applications is 11 September 2000.

Downing College is an equal opportunities employer.
