COLLEGE Notices

Christ's College

ALUMNI OFFICER/DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT

Christ's College has recently launched a major development programme, focused initially on the College's 500th anniversary in 2005. As an integral part of this programme, the College is keen to foster a close and mutually beneficial relationship with its members. The role of Alumni Officer/Development Assistant will be key in achieving this goal. As well as managing the College's alumni relations programme, the Alumni Officer/Development Assistant will support the broader work of the Development Director, for example, establishing and developing contacts between non-resident members and the College using the newly-established Year Group Representative Scheme; managing the College's alumni database; organizing members' events; co-ordinating mailings; and liaising with the Cambridge University Development Office, Cambridge in America, and other College development offices.

Applicants should have a university degree, good written and oral communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will have a confident and outgoing personality, and will enjoy meeting and interacting with a wide range of people, including graduates of the College holding senior positions in business and public life. Numeracy and familiarity with Windows-based platforms are essential; knowledge of Raiser's Edge software is also highly desirable. Short-listed applicants will probably have one or more years' work experience in an office environment, preferably in alumni relations and/or fundraising; however, recent graduates will also be considered. The salary will be in the range £16,200 - £18,900 (equivalent to the University scale AA III; cost-of-living review pending), depending on experience and ability.

For further details and an application form, contact Mrs F. Barker, Fellows' Secretary, Christ's College, Cambridge, CB2 3BU (tel. 01223 334904, fax 01223 339557, e-mail fmb29@cam.ac.uk). The closing date for applications is 14 July 2000, with interviews planned for 19 July 2000.
