Visit of the Chancellor on Thursday, 13 July: Notice

The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that he has designated Thursday, 13 July 2000, as an occasion on which festal gowns are to be worn, and in accordance with Regulation 3 for Academical Dress (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 184), he requests Doctors in the several Faculties to wear their appropriate academical dress in public on that day. Other members of the University are also requested to wear their academical dress. He also requests that the University flag be flown from University buildings having flagpoles, to mark the visit of the Chancellor.

Members of the University are reminded that on this occasion any member who holds a degree of another university or degree-awarding institution may wear the academical dress appropriate to that degree, except for those officers specified in Regulation 4 for Academical Dress.
