Downing College

LECTURE

A Lecture will be held to mark the opening of the College Bicentenary Exhibition at the Fitzwilliam Museum, entitled The Age of Wilkins: the architecture of improvement.

Dr David Watkin, Litt.D., FSA, will lecture at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, 20 June, in the Howard Building, Downing College, as a prelude to the exhibition to be held at the Fitzwilliam Museum from 21 June to 13 August. All those interested are welcome.

The exhibition forms part of the College bicentenary celebrations. It illustrates the contribution made in the early nineteenth century to social and educational 'improvement' in the architectural world of William Wilkins, the first architect of the College.
