Trinity College

TEACHING APPOINTMENT IN ENGLISH

Applications are invited for appointment to a College Lectureship in English, together with a Fellowship, tenable for five years in the first instance, from 1 January 2001 or a later date by negotiation. The successful applicant will assist in supervising and directing studies in English in the College. Consideration will be given to candidates with research and teaching interests and experience in one or more of the fields covered by the English Tripos in the historical periods 1300-1500 and 1700 to the present day.

The Lectureship is tenable with or without another salaried appointment in the University. For a Lecturer with no other post, the stipend will be on a scale roughly comparable with that for University Lecturers, with placing according to age and qualifications.

Application should be made to the Senior Tutor, Trinity College, Cambridge, CB2 1TQ, from whom further particulars may be obtained. Applicants should send a statement of qualifications, publications, and teaching experience, and should also ensure that not more than three referees have written directly to the Senior Tutor on their behalf before the closing date of 19 June 2000.

EXHIBITION

An exhibition of paintings by Peter Griffin, entitled Identities, will be on display in the Wren Library, Trinity College, from 15 to 27 May (from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays and from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on Saturdays).
