Medical Research Council Centre, Cambridge

DEPUTY SAFETY CO-ORDINATOR

The world-renowned Laboratory of Molecular Biology and the MRC Centre require a Deputy Safety Co-ordinator who is highly motivated and flexible, and with good management, interpersonal, and communication skills, to join their Health and Safety Section. The Section also provides services to other MRC units on site. The post-holder will assist the Senior Safety Co-ordinator in the day to day management of the Section, and contribute to the services provided, as well as lead and manage his or her own projects to improve health and safety management. The post-holder will need to be able to identify the hazards associated with biological research. He or she should have at least two years' experience in health and safety, preferably in a research environment, with a relevant qualification, preferably the NEBOSH Diploma, Part 1. Staff management experience is also desirable.

The post, which is initially for three years, will be to MRC Band 4 (£16,280-£29,362 a year), with a starting salary in the range £19,000-£23,000.
