Harvard Club of London

STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

The Harvard Club of London (HCL) has initiated a pilot scheme, which is now in its third year, to award an annual Student Scholarship to a recent Harvard/Radcliffe graduate studying for a postgraduate degree in England. The object of the grant is to provide a small amount of financial support to that graduate who is looking for additional funds to continue postgraduate studies in England. The successful applicant would receive from the Club a single payment of not more than £1,000. The Club plans to award the Scholarship to the applicant who best demonstrates financial need and an interest or involvement in the Harvard community. Successful applicants will also become HCL Scholars and may be asked to participate in and support Club events at appropriate occasions.

Application forms are available from the Club's website (http://www.harvardlondon.org/). To complete your application, you must also send the supporting materials listed here to the Scholarship Committee. Applications cannot be considered until all supporting materials have been received.

Supporting materials should include:

(a) a copy of your latest curriculum vitae, detailing your academic achievements, work experience, and extra-curricular activities;
(b) one letter of reference from a person who has a knowledge of your recent work in your present educational institution or your last one;
(c) a copy of your acceptance letter from the British institution or university concerned;
(d) a piece of written work outlining your present field of study and any specific or original work you are undertaking for your degree. The piece should be no longer than 500 words and must be typed.

Applications may either be submitted online or be sent by post to the Harvard Club of London Scholarship Committee, Buchanan House, 3 St James Square, London, SW1Y 4JU. Please contact Sean O'Harrow (e-mail oharrow@hotmail.com) with any queries. All materials must be received by 5 May for the academic year starting in the autumn term.
