AWARDS BY OUTSIDE BODIES

Great Britain-China Educational Trust

AWARDS FOR POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS

The Great Britain-China Educational Trust (GBCET) offers grants to Chinese and British postgraduate students in the UK. Applicants should be:

(i) Citizens of the People's Republic of China who are currently registered on examined postgraduate courses at institutions of higher learning in the UK; or
(ii) British citizens registered on examined UK postgraduate courses on China-related topics; or
(iii) British citizens registered on examined UK postgraduate courses who would like to give a conference paper in China (as long as they have completed the first term of a one-year course or the first year of a course lasting longer than one year).

Grants may be up to £2,000, and are sometimes renewable. The GBCET meets quarterly, usually in February, April, July, and October. Completed applications should be received no less than ten working days before the meeting at which they will be considered. For the date of the next meeting, please contact the Administrator at the address below. Application forms must be signed by the applicant's supervisor and head of department. Candidates should also arrange for their supervisor to complete and return a 'supervisor's comments' form.
