Robert Daglish Fund: Notice

Statutes and Ordinances, p. 690

The attention of the undergraduate students is drawn to the existence of the Robert Daglish Fund. The Fund was established 'for the encouragement of Russian studies' from a bequest from Mrs Inna Daglish in memory of her husband, a former student at Jesus. The purpose of the Fund is to 'make grants or loans to undergraduate members of the University to assist them in travelling to or in Russia in connection with their studies in the University'.

Students who wish to apply for grants are required to complete an application form available from the Slavonic Office, Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages, Sidgwick Avenue. Applicants will be expected to provide:

(i) a description of a project which they intend to carry out in Russia;
(ii) the estimated costs and approximate time scale;
(iii) the name of a referee (e.g. Director of Studies or a Supervisor).

The deadline for submission of applications is 1 May 2000.

Applicants should note that: (a) awards will not normally be made for courses that are eligible for support from the Vacation Studies Fund; (b) awards are not meant to replace the normal source of funding from the Year Abroad.
