The Vice-Chancellor begs leave to report to the University that he has accepted with gratitude a bequest of $8m under the Will of Paul Mellon, Hon. K.B.E., M.A., Hon. LL.D., of Clare College, who died on 1 February 1999, to benefit the Fitzwilliam Museum. The bequest will be used to establish a fund named the Paul Mellon Fund; the Council are submitting a Grace to the Regent House (Grace 3, p. 418) for the approval of regulations to govern this Fund.
