PROFESSORSHIP OF FRENCH LITERATURE

The electors intend to proceed to an election to the Professorship of French Literature, with effect from 1 October 2000 or such later date as may be arranged. The Professor should have an outstanding research record in any area(s) of specialization in French Literature. A non-stipendiary Fellowship at Lady Margaret Hall is attached to the Professorship. Applications should be received not later than 31 January 2000.

PROFESSORSHIP OF LAW

The electors intend to proceed to an election to the Professorship of Law, with effect from 1 October 2000 or such later date as may be arranged. This Chair has been newly created as a result of a rearrangement of the Faculty's senior posts. It is open to candidates whose expertise is in any area of legal study germane to the work of the Faculty, with a preference, all else being equal, for English Private Law. A non-stipendiary Fellowship at Lady Margaret Hall is attached to the Professorship. Applications should be received not later than 7 February 2000.

In each case, applications (ten copies, or one only from overseas candidates), naming three persons who have agreed to act as referees on this occasion, should be received by the relevant closing date, by the Registrar, University Offices, Wellington Square, Oxford, OX1 2JD, from whom further particulars may be obtained.
