Oriental Studies

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Oriental Studies gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, 9 November 1999, in Lecture Room L1, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Sidgwick Avenue. The main business of the meeting will be to elect two members of the Faculty Board in class (c), in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), to serve for four years from 1 January 1999. The retiring members are Dr G. A. Khan and Dr Boping Yuan.

Nominations, signed by the proposer and seconder, and notice of any business which a member wishes to be discussed, should be sent to the Secretary, Mrs D. M. Bennett, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Sidgwick Avenue, Cambridge, CB3 9DA, so as to reach her not later than Friday, 5 November 1999.

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of English gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, 11 November 1999, in Seminar Room 6, Faculty of History. The main business of the meeting will be: (i) the election of four members of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2000; (ii) the election of two members of the General Purposes Committee to serve for one year from 1 January 2000; (iii) the election of one member of the Teaching and Learning Committee to serve for one year from 1 December 1999.

Nominations, proposed and seconded in writing, together with an indication of the nominee's willingness to serve, and notice of any other business, should reach the Secretary of the Faculty Board, at the Faculty Office, 9 West Road, by noon on Monday, 1 November 1999.
