PROFESSORSHIPS IN MANAGEMENT STUDIES IN THE SAID BUSINESS SCHOOL

Ernest Butten Professorship of Management Studies

Balliol College has generously agreed to fund the Ernest Butten Professorship of Management Studies. The Chair is open to applicants from all areas of Management Studies, but preference will be given to those with expertise in the areas of International Business and Strategy, Technology and Innovation, and Business History. The person appointed will be expected to have an exceptional research record in his or her chosen area. The electors intend to proceed to an election with effect from 1 October 2000, or such other date as may be arranged. A non-stipendiary Fellowship at Balliol College is attached to the Professorship. The Professor will be required to act as Director of Studies in Management at the College.

Professorship of Marketing

The Professorship of Marketing, which has been established with the generous support of an anonymous benefactor, is attached to a non-stipendiary Fellowship at Green College. The Professor will be expected to make a significant contribution to education and research in Management, and will be expected to have an exceptional research record in Marketing. The electors intend to proceed to an election with effect from 1 October 2000, or such other date as may be arranged.

Applications (ten copies for each post, or one only from overseas candidates), naming three persons who have agreed to act as referees on this occasion, should be received not later than 29 November 1999, by the Registrar, University Offices, Wellington Square, Oxford, OX1 2JD, from whom further particulars of each post may be obtained.
