Leverhulme Trust

AWARDS TO INDIVIDUALS

Research Fellowships and Grants

The Leverhulme Trust invites applications from experienced researchers, particularly those who are or have been prevented by routine duties from completing a programme of original research. Approximately 120 awards are offered annually. Grants provide research expenses over and above normal living costs; Fellowships provide a contribution towards replacement teaching costs (normally on an hourly-paid ad hoc basis) or loss of earnings plus research expenses, if required.

Emeritus Fellowships

The Leverhulme Trust invites applications from recently retired scholars to complete and prepare for publication the results of research already begun. Approximately 30 Fellowships are offered annually.

Study Abroad Fellowships

The Leverhulme Trust invites applications from holders of established full-time posts in UK institutions of higher education, museums, art galleries, or comparable institutions, to support a sabbatical period overseas, devoted to study, scholarship, writing, and the development of new and established lines of research. Approximately 25 Fellowships are offered annually.

Study Abroad Studentships

The Leverhulme Trust invites applications from holders of UK first degrees or the equivalent for Studentships to support an extended period of advanced study or research at a centre of learning overseas (except the USA). Approximately 23 Studentships are offered annually.

Further information about the Leverhulme Trust and the above awards may be found on the Trust's web-page (http://www.leverhulme.org.uk/). A copy of the Guide for applicants may be seen at the University Registry, The Old Schools, during office hours.
