On the recommendation of the Faculty Boards of Oriental Studies and Modern and Medieval Languages, the General Board have agreed to permit Miss I. Ferber, of Selwyn College, to take Part I of the Oriental Studies Tripos in 2000 under the regulations that were in force on 30 September 1999. Miss Ferber offered Hebrew and Russian in the Preliminary Examination in 1999, taking Option A in Russian; she wishes to continue with these languages in Part I, but the revised regulations for the Oriental Studies Tripos, which were approved in the Easter Term 1999 (Reporter, 1998-99, p. 680), no longer make provision in Part I for candidates who took Option A in the Preliminary Examination.
