Exhibitions and events in the Fitzwilliam Museum

The following exhibitions are or will be on view in the Fitzwilliam Museum:

Works of art since 1950, in the Adeane Gallery until 31 October.

Ancient imitations, in the Octagon Gallery until 7 November.

William Blake: Europe and America, in the Charrington Print Room until 20 December.

Apocalypse: prints by Dürer and Duvet, in the Shiba Room until 19 March 2000.

Critics choice: a selection by Bryan Robertson of work from the Museum's permanent collection, in the Octagon Gallery from 13 November until 9 January 2000.

The Museum is open on Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 2.15 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Brendan Kennelly will read from his book Cromwell, as part of the Cambridgeshire County Council Literature Development Service Events series: 'If these be the Times'. The event will take place in the Fitzwilliam Museum at 7 p.m. on Friday, 8 October. To book tickets (£5; £3.50 concessions) contact 01223 503333.

A promenade concert by Quintessence, a vocal quintet, will be given at 2.30 p.m. on Saturday, 9 October, in Gallery III. The programme will include madrigals by Monteverdi and English composers. Admission is free.
