Professor Dame Elizabeth Hill Fund: Notice

The Managers of the Professor Dame Elizabeth Hill Fund give notice that they are prepared to receive applications for grants from the Fund.

Grants from the Dame Professor Elizabeth Hill Fund are made to support advanced study or research in Slavonic Studies relating to the period before A.D. 1700. The Managers will consider applications relating to any aspect of Slav history or culture in the relevant period, but the terms of the Fund specify that preference should be given to persons intending to work in any of the following fields: palaeography; medieval literature or art; the monastic tradition of the Orthodox Church; the study of the Slavonic contribution to geography, historiography, or the history of science.

Grants may be made to University Officers or other persons employed by the University and to Fellows of Colleges in the University. Applications should be made on forms available from the Secretary, Department of Slavonic Studies, Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages, Sidgwick Avenue, Cambridge. Completed applications must be submitted no later than 1 May 2000.
