Preliminary Examinations, 2000

In addition to the amendments of the regulations for Preliminary Examinations which were announced in Reporter, pp. 636 and 711, the General Board have approved the following amendments of the regulations for the Preliminary Examination for Part I of the Education Studies Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 222). Notification of these amendments was received from the Faculty Board of Education too late for inclusion in the earlier Notices.

EDUCATION STUDIES

Regulation 2.

By amending the entry for the subject Music so as to read:

Music: Paper 1. A practical examination, including improvization. In addition, each candidate shall submit a portfolio of five compositions.

*Paper 2. Musical style and idea. In addition to the written paper, each candidate shall submit two essays, each between 2,000 and 2,500 words in length, and a report of not more than 1,000 words on a seminar.
