The supplementary regulations for Part II of the Social and Political Sciences Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 397) have been amended, with effect from 1 October 1999, as follows:

Paper 6.  Western European politics

By amending the detail so as to read:

The overall context of post-1945 western European politics in comparative perspective, with particular reference to three selected political systems: France, Germany, the European Union. Political culture, constitutions, and state structures; party system developments; organized interests and public policy; state-economy relations; Europeanization of national politics and policies; post-materialist ideology and social movements; racism and immigration; women and politics; theories and practice of European integration; EU institutions and policies; the EU as an international actor; the UK's relationship with the EU; impact of the EU on domestic politics and economy.
