Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos, Part II, and Linguistics Tripos

The General Board have approved a proposal by the Faculty Board of Modern and Medieval Languages for the introduction of an examination paper on the Germanic languages. This paper, which will be an addition to the papers in Comparative Studies, will be available in Part II (but not Part IB) of the Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos, and also in the Linguistics Tripos. The General Board are satisfied that the resulting increase in the number of papers set in those examinations is justified on educational grounds. The regulations for the examinations concerned have been amended, with effect from 1 October 2000, as follows:

Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos (New Regulations) (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 346)

SCHEDULE B

By inserting in the list of papers in Comparative Studies the following:

CS 2.  The Germanic languages (also serves as Paper 23 of the Linguistics Tripos).

SCHEDULE II

By adding Paper CS 2 to the list of papers available in Comparative Studies.

Linguistics Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 319)

Regulation 11.

By adding the following paper to the list of papers in Group C:

Paper 23.  The Germanic languages (Paper CS 2 of the Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos).
