Department of Archaeology

LECTURER/ASSISTANT LECTURER (TEMPORARY POST)

Applications are invited for the temporary office of Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Archaeology to take up an appointment for two years from 1 October 1999 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is to replace Professor Ian Hodder during two years' leave of absence. Expertise in archaeological theory and/or the archaeology of Later European Prehistory will be required.

The pensionable scales of stipends, which are under review, are, for an Assistant Lecturer, £16,655-£21,815 a year, and for a Lecturer, £20,107-£31,010 a year, depending on age and experience.
