Department of Chemical Engineering

RESEARCH FACILITATOR

The Department of Chemical Engineering wishes to appoint to a new post of Research Facilitator with the purpose of promoting and enhancing research within the Department. The post-holder will act to improve the Department's success in its research activities by providing professional, high-level research support to all members of staff within the Department and to promote the Department's external research profile. The post-holder will primarily foster, develop, and exploit research activity in chemical engineering, and will also be expected to provide advice and assistance to academic colleagues preparing individual research grant applications and recruiting research workers. He or she will already have a record of success in these areas. Good administrative, interpersonal, team-working, and IT skills together with an in-depth knowledge of technical issues will be essential, as will the ability to initiate new ideas and motivate others.

The appointment will initially be on a fixed-term contract for five years, with a salary in the range £20,107-£29,048 a year.
