Statutes approved: Notice

14 June 1999

The Registrary has received notice from the Clerk of the Privy Council that Her Majesty the Queen, at a Council held on 2 June 1999, was pleased to approve the amendments of Statutes A, D, E, F, G, H, J, K, and T which were submitted under the Common Seal of the University in accordance with Graces 3 of 4 March 1998 and 1 of 18 March 1998.

The amendments authorized by the first of these Graces were proposed by the Council in their Report dated 2 February 1998 (Reporter, 1997-98, p. 363); they cover a wide range of minor matters, including a number of procedural changes and the removal of certain obsolete provisions, together with the introduction of revised arrangements for the publication of the accounts of the Local Examinations Syndicate, which are now to be published separately and not as an Appendix to the main University Accounts.

The amendments authorized by Grace 1 of 18 March 1998 relate to Statute E, XXXIV; this Statute is a Statute for the University and Emmanuel College in common, governing the Dixie Professorship of Ecclesiastical History. The amendments provide for the removal of gender-specific language from the Statute.
