Election, appointments, and reappointments

The following election, appointments, and reappointments have been made:

Election

Professor R. Parker, M.Mus., Ph.D., London, Professor of Music in the University of Oxford, elected Professor of Music from a date to be determined.

Appointments

Assistant Director of Research

Physics. Mr B. L. Thiel, M.S., Ph.D., Washington, Seattle, appointed from 12 April 1999 for five years.

Head of Department

Anatomy. The General Board, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Biology, have appointed Professor W. A. Harris, CL, Head of the Department from 1 September 1999 for five years.

Reappointments

University Lecturer

Medicine. Dr K. G. C. Smith, PEM, reappointed from 1 October 1999 to the retiring age.

Junior Assistant Secretary

Continuing Education. Mrs B. L. Butler, reappointed Junior Assistant Secretary, Grade I, from 1 February 1999 to the retiring age.
