POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE IN GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING/ MICROMECHANICS

A Postdoctoral Research Associate is needed to work with Professor N. A. Fleck on the development of a continuous centrifuge and on the constitutive behaviour of wet powders for the chemical and food processing industries. The project involves the experimental development of a new type of continuous centrifuge and associated instrumentation, and will involve a collaboration with a number of UK industries. A background in centrifuge technology, in solid mechanics, or in the processing of powders would be advantageous.

The project is for three years, starting on 1 October 1999, or as soon as possible thereafter. Applicants without a Ph.D. Degree but with the relevant expertise will be considered. The salary is £15,735 - £20,107 a year, depending on age.
