Selwyn College

COLLEGE LIBRARIAN

Applications are invited for the newly established office of College Librarian to take up appointment preferably not later than 1 August 1999. The successful candidate will be a graduate with suitable professional qualifi- cations and experience. The College is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic professional librarian in this new post to move the Library and its associated services into the twenty-first century.

The Librarian will have overall responsibility for the administration of an academic library, principally serving undergraduates, but also for senior members of the College and visiting scholars, and including special collections. As well as having responsibility for the developing collections, both traditional and electronic, the Librarian will be expected to take an active part in the continuing development of IT applications and reader services generally. The salary will be £18,275-£23,651 a year.

DURRANT RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP IN NUTRITION

Selwyn College invites applications for a Durrant Research Fellowship in Nutrition from 1 October 1999 for three years. The Research Fellow will work with the Nutrition Group of the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine on modelling the concentrations of cadmium and lead in animal products and the human food chain.
