Report of the Council on College contributions in the financial year 1998-99: Notice

The Council have considered the remarks made by Dr Findlay at the Discussion of this Report on 16 March 1999 (Reporter, p. 516). They have also taken account of Dr Findlay's subsequent remarks on the subject of College accounts at the Discussion of the Council's Second Report on amendments of Statute G, II (Reporter, p. 578; see also the Council's Notice below).

Dr Findlay commented on the form of College accounts at the Discussion of the Second Report of the Board of Scrutiny in July 1997 (Reporter, 1996-97, p. 1007). In response to his remarks on that occasion, and at the request of the Council, the Bursars' Committee appointed a Working Party to consider possible revision of the form of College accounts; the Working Party have the matter under active consideration, but they have not yet reached a conclusion. The Council have been advised that the Working Party expect to report their recommendations in the autumn of this year; the Council will report further to the University at that time.
