Natural Sciences Tripos, Part IB and Part II (General)

The regulations for the Natural Sciences Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 362) have been amended as set out below. These amendments relate to Part IB and Part II (General).

The purpose of the first amendment, which takes effect from 1 October 1999, is to make possible a more convenient timetabling of the lectures for Fluid Mechanics. As a result of this change it will no longer be possible for candidates to combine Fluid Mechanics with Mathematics, Pharmacology, or Animal Biology.

The purpose of the second amendment, which takes effect from 1 October 2000, is to enable candidates to offer Plant Sciences in combination with Experimental Psychology. As a result of this change it will no longer be possible for candidates to combine Plant Sciences with Chemistry A, or with Special Subject Chemistry in Part II (General).

The regulations have been amended as follows:

With effect from 1 October 1999:

Regulation 22(b).
Regulation 26(g).

By transferring the subject Fluid Mechanics in each case from group (vi) to group (vii).

With effect from 1 October 2000:

Regulation 22(b).
Regulation 26(g).

By transferring the subject Plant Sciences in each case from group (vi) to group (i).
