University offices: Vacancy

Applications are invited for the following University office:

Administrative Officer, Grade II, in the University Offices (Finance Division)

An Administrative Officer, Grade II, is required in the Pensions Section of the Finance Division of the University Offices to take up appointment as a Pensions Accountant from 1 August 1999. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of the accounting functions carried out in the Section and will be expected to offer training and advice to staff carrying out the day-to-day accounting functions. He or she is likely to hold a recognized accountancy or pensions qualification and have a good knowledge of the University's accounts procedures and policies. Experience in the preparation of pension scheme accounts would be an advantage. Appointment will be for three years in the first instance, with possible reappointment for periods not exceeding five years at a time. An Administrative Officer who has reached the maximum of the scale of stipends may be reappointed to the retiring age.

The pensionable scale of stipends for an Administrative Officer, Grade II, is £18,275 a year, rising by six annual increments to £23,651 (under review).
