TEMPORARY ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER (MATERNITY LEAVE COVER)

Applications are invited for a temporary administrative post during the absence of an Administrative Officer on maternity leave. This is a responsible post in a busy office which supports Departments in their applications for research funding to outside sponsors. Duties include checking and approving grant applications and awards to ensure that they conform to University policies; the establishment of assistant posts funded from grants; and the provision of information to Departments and grant applicants on sources of funds, particularly on EC grant schemes. Previous administrative experience is essential and experience of research funding is desirable. Candidates should have excellent interpersonal communications skills and the ability to work under pressure. The post is available from 19 July 1999 until approximately 31 March 2000. Salary will be in the range £18,275 to £23,651 a year, depending on age and experience. The limit of tenure is 31 March 2000 or the return of the job holder, whichever is the earlier.
