Department of Geography and Newnham College

SHARED ASSISTANT LECTURESHIP IN THE GEOGRAPHY OF DEVELOPMENT

Applications are invited for a fixed-term, unestablished Assistant Lectureship in the Geography of Development from 1 October 1999, to be shared between the Department of Geography and Newnham College and tenable for up to three years. Preference may be given to applicants with regional interests in a developing region, particularly but not exclusively South Asia. The person appointed will contribute to undergraduate and graduate level lecture courses in the Geography of Development, and in addition will supervise undergraduates for Newnham College and contribute to direction of studies in Geography. The post is associated with the normal privileges accorded to a member of the academic staff at Newnham College (including accommodation and meals). Initial appointment will be on the lower points of a scale equivalent to that for University Assistant Lectureships (currently £16,655 or £17,570 a year), with annual increments.
