TEMPORARY FACULTY ASSISTANT LECTURER IN CLASSICS (LINGUISTICS AND PHILOLOGY)

Applications for this post are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates. The post will be for one year only in the first instance, beginning 1 October 1999, though it may be extended for up to two more years if circumstances require. The Linguistics and Philology section of the Faculty is responsible for teaching descriptive linguistics of Greek and Latin for Part I of the Classical Tripos, and the historical linguistics of the two languages and comparative linguistics of the Indo-European languages for Part II, as well as for supervising graduate students working in these fields. The successful candidate will be required to take a full part in undergraduate teaching for Part I and Part II, and may, if the post is renewed beyond the initial one-year term, also be asked to contribute to teaching for the M.Phil. programme.

The pensionable scale of stipends is £16,655-£21,815.
