EVENTS AND CONFERENCE ORGANIZER

Applications are invited for the post of Events and Conference Organizer in the Faculty of English. The Faculty organizes each year a number of high profile public lectures, conferences, and other events. The person appointed will be required to undertake background research for these events and conferences, to liaise with potential speakers and with publishers, to produce literature related to the events, to liaise with other Faculties in the University, and with other institutions on behalf of the Faculty. The postholder will also be required to research and write a termly bulletin and to assist with the Faculty's fundraising campaign. Candidates should have a background in English and related literature and should have some research experience.

The post is funded for six months in the first instance on the Research Assistant grade (salary according to age). The postholder will be required to work a variable number of hours each week, according to the pattern of Faculty events and conferences; in an average week the number of hours worked would not normally exceed eight.
