Philosophical Society

On Monday, 1 February 1999 at 8.30 p.m. in the Cockcroft Lecture Theatre, New Museums Site, Mr Brian J. Ford, biologist and author, will deliver a lecture entitled Stepping back in time - how the first scientists viewed their specimens. All who are interested are invited. There will be a short business meeting before the lecture.

At a meeting held on 18 January 1999 Dr A. J. Munro, President, was in the chair. Professor K. L. Johnson, FRS, delivered the G. I. Taylor Lecture entitled Sliding friction between solids. A vote of thanks was moved by Professor D. E. Newland.
