St John's College

EMANUEL MILLER PRIZE

By a bequest under the Will of Dr Emanuel Miller, St John's College has received a sum of money for the establishment of a biennial prize in the Philosophy of Science with special reference to the behavioural sciences (psychology and social science).

The prize of £250 will be awarded to the writer of the best essay, not exceeding 10,000 words, on a topic chosen by the competitor within the realm of the Philosophy of Science, with special reference to the behavioural sciences (psychology and social science). All members of the University under the age of thirty at the closing date for submission are eligible.

Any candidate who is in doubt as to whether the chosen topic lies within the specified field should communicate with the Master by 1 June l999 and the College Council will resolve the matter. The College Council also reserves the right not to make an award in any year when it judges that there is no candidate of sufficient merit.

Essays, which should be typewritten or printed, must reach the Master, St John's College, by 15 October l999.
